Armchair BEA : Introduction Post

Hello there and welcome to Always Reiding! We’re not going to BEA this year, but I am celebrating in Armchair BEA, and I would love to share the journey with you.

Without further ado, here is a little about me:

Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging? Where in the world are you blogging from?

I’m Nicole, and I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember (at least since the age of 4), but have been blogging off and on since 2003. I got into blogging as a way to keep track of mail art and writing. I started book blogging in 2009, when I got my first ereader. As a writer, blogging fulfills a daily need. As a reader, it provides a great community. I live in Southern California with my amazing husband and three cats.

Describe your blog in just one sentence. Then, list your social details — Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. — so we can connect more online.

AlwaysReiding.com is a place where I talk about all of the books I read, as well as all my crazy fan-theories and keep up with an ever expanding wishlist.

What was your favorite book read last year? What’s your favorite book so far this year?

Last year, I think I really loved reading and finishing the George RR Martin series that has been turned into the show Game of Thrones. I read book 2 through 5 last year, and while it was a chore, it was totally worth it, especially considering what we see on the show this season. This year, I read the Shining and Doctor Sleep and N0S4R2 (Two by Stephen King, one by Joe Hill). That set of three books with similar settings/characters are still with me.

What is your favorite blogging resource?

I do a lot of Pinterest for blogging resources. Especially when it comes to WordPress. I just started following the Pixel Boutique as well. I love following Sheila at Book Journey for hints and updates as to what is going on in the reading world.

Share your favorite book or reading related quote.
