Broth and Stock from the Nourished Kitchen by Jennifer McGruther

Broth and Stock from the Nourished Kitchen by Jennifer McGruther is a book I was extremely excited to read, I love soup and broth and it can be so very healing. Unfortunately, I am also not fantastic with bones or some of the whole items associated with making soup–I just was able to eat a part of a chicken breast off the bone (without freaking out about said bones) for the first time in my life recently. I’ve raved about a broth recipe that uses chicken wings and my husband is awesome enough to pick the meat from those bones.

Enter Jennifer McGruther. She has recipes that use whole bones and chicken thighs and the whole gamut of broth. Once you build the stock base, Jennifer has some nourishing recipes for using the broth in soups. And there is sure to be something for everyone. I was fascinated by her breakfast broth recipe, and I want to use this in my near future. The stock, itself, was totally amazing and I feel much better after trying it–I cannot wait for the weather to cool off a little bit so I can start enjoying more of them (part of my freezer has been taken over by frozen stock and soup, thankfully!).

I received this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review. The thoughts are my own.

If I was made to choose, my wishlist is the black bean soup next. What is your favorite kind of soup? Please share in the comments below.
