Twelve Steps: A Review of the Libby Garrett Intervention (Science Squad #2)

The Libby Garrett Intervention (Science Squad #2)

Libby Garrett is smart, but she’s also being used. A friend of Avery Shaw, Libby has been spending more and time with Owen, the hunky college basketball player… To the detriment of her own happiness. Owen doesn’t just want to keep them low key, he wants to keep their arrangement (and their sexual relationship) to themselves, not even telling their respective best friends. But when Libby’s friends stage an intervention, Libby realizes she has a problem, and will need the help of a hot coffee guy in order to truly survive. Suddenly, she’s walking through the twelve steps and trying to retain her spirit–but when a chance encounter on what is supposed to be her most romantic night threatens her recovery, she decides to choose her addiction.

Will she be able to see that Owen is treating her like trash and realize she’s better than he deserves, or will her heart win her over? Read The Libby Garrett Intervention (Science Squad #2) to find out.

I enjoyed this book, but it took me so much longer to read this than the first one. While I liked the idea of Libby, something about her character or her situation made me pause. Adam was a cool character, too, but I think that overall the idea was catchy, but just didn’t speak to me in the way the first one did. I look forward to more from the series, but I think this one just felt a little too out of my comfort zone, especially with the ready way Libby described her style as slut wear when she bought clothes to impress Owen. I was completely happy that I got this from the Kindle Owners Lending Library, so I didn’t have to worry about buying it.
