One of the best things I can think of reading is a Doctor Who book–especially during the hiatus between the seasons of this BBC show. However, with things like Amazon and Netflix, my beloved Doctor is close at hand. Still, there are times when I would love to read about our favorite Gallifreyan–especially when it has some medieval elements, like in Una McCormack’s Doctor Who: Royal Blood.

The village of Ringstone is quiet and quaint, but when large insects suddenly descend and threaten the residents, only the Doctor and his companion, Clara, can help with the giant Daddy Longlegs that have appeared without warning.
As a Whovian, I have a responsibility to read anything and everything about the Doctor I can get my hands onto, especially since I live in America, and we may have to wait for months to get our ‘fix’ of the doctor. The Doctor is almost always portrayed as the good guy, which I completely believe. However, it is nice to see the opposite side of things—James Goss shows us this side of the Doctor in Doctor Who: The Blood Cell.
