Book Blogger Hop
About the Book Blogger Hop from Coffee Addicted Writer: The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, I relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question
11th – 17th – Could you ever pick a favorite book or is it like choosing your favorite child? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)
I think this is such a hard, nuanced question. But I’m also stoked that Elizabeth was the one to ask it, because I love reading her blog, Silver’s Reviews (I even subscribe via Feedly!). So, being the geek I am, I took to the internet to help me. Here are a few sentiments/thoughts that match mine in regards to the question.
I don’t think that there is a right answer, especially when considering that so many people will be answering said question. However, I do think that it also depends on what KIND of book. Traditionally, I love a bunch of different genres. I don’t know if I could pick an absolute favorite. Some of my favorites that stick out currently are:
Betty Smith’s A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Curtis Sittenfeld’s Prep
Alice Walker’s The Color Purple
Carl Hiaasen’s Native Tongue
Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl
What are yours?

May 13, 2018 at 3:18 amThat Neil Gaiman quote is beyond relatable in reference to this question. It’s such a broad question that I don’t think anybody WOULDN’T have a hard time in answering it. I know there are quite a few readers with ‘default, go-to’ answers for what their favourite book is, but I think even that would be too difficult for me. I read way too many different genres and love a range of books for different reasons, so it would be too hard to narrow it down to just one.
I also enjoyed ‘Fangirl’! It was a funny yet chilled read, which is always nice.
Feel free to check out my Book Blogger Hop answer if you wish! 🙂

May 13, 2018 at 4:37 pmI loved Fangirl so much I cried when I ran out of pages (I was reading on my kindle and wasn’t paying attention). I wasn’t ready for it to end. I like your sentiments. I have a favorite, but that’s just because I haven’t seen my experience reflected frequently in books. Happy reading!
