Comics to Movies: Kingsman: The Secret Service
Wow! I actually did it. I went to the movies to see a movie! It’s been a while, I think the last movie we did see was the last part of the Hobbit trilogy. I used to go to the movies a lot more. However, I have found that when you’re a house of two and going to movies with others or just each other, scheduling can become a nightmare.
Enter Kingsman: The Secret Service. It’s based on a comic called The Secret Service (which I have not YET read). It’s a tale about a youth who doesn’t really fit in anywhere (great gymnastic ability, smart, but hangs out with a crowd that doesn’t do much), and his being recruited for a place in a training program for an elite group of spies whom are based in the UK.
Oh, and Colin FIRTH is in it. You know, the guy known for his wet t-shirt contests…
Anyway, he’s older. And mature. And he carries an umbrella and works at a tailor.
And he kills bad guys.
Enter Samuel L Jackson, who has a cute lisp. But, is bent on world domination.
Okay, that’s all I am going to say, except for the fact that I did walk out at one point to run to the bathroom (when I thought something bad was going to happen to an animal)—but it didn’t. But overall, I think it was solid. Matthew Vaughn proves he’s a great director. And did take some risks—but also some really awesome filmography happened, so I definitely recommend this.
Did you want to see the Kingsman?

January 11, 2016 at 4:14 pmI had read that Kingsman was based on a story but didn’t know that it was a comic story. also didn’t seem to find the book but it is perhaps because I haven’t been looking it for it under comics. If you have any suggestions or know how I could find it, then I will be more than grateful. Thanks a lot for the share and enjoy your New Year.
