GothamGal is a devoted comic fan. Reading comics from an early age (TinTin, Archie, Katie Keene and much more), she has recently revisited her old interest and is branching out into the streets of unread comics and graphic novels! While she favors DC Comics, Marvel is slowly winning her over—but Vertigo, Image and IDW have so many new things to offer, she might just say she’s a comic fan—with no labels. She fights for literature, education and the right for ALL to read comics!

Mark Waid and Veronica Fish take on the Riverdale gang in Archie Vol 2. Fresh from the events collected in the first volume of the relaunch series, the gang is still reeling–Mr. Lodge hates Archie Andrews, and uses Reggie to both annoy Archie and gather intel. However, when Veronica hears of this, she tells her father exactly how she feels, and since it is an election year, they try and make a compromise–Mr. Lodge doesn’t want to see Archie, so Veronica takes steps to make the Andrews home feel more like her own (with Archie’s mother’s blessing)…but is this something that will work long term, or will the couple be forced apart when they get a close up look at the differences in their lives? Read Archie Vol 2 to find out for sure.

Who would read this: Fans of archie comics, mark waid or the Riverdale tv series. Someone looking for a nice comic city to disappear into for a few hours.

Time to Read: 45 minutes

Funny Story: I’ve read Archie comics for most of my life, and I am super excited about this new ‘vision’ of the Riverdale gang. #TeamBetty

Final thoughts: Definitely worth the read, but can we get more quickly, pLease?
