Happy Weekend!

Hello All,

Long time, no post. Sorry about that. Work has been very busy–and that’s okay.
Cool stuff from the Internet:
I’m digging this unearthed Disney info of Cinderella Castle mystery tour, there’s even a walkthrough video. I think there needs to be more Black Cauldron at the Parks (it has since closed).
This is a cool article about an Edward Hopper piece we’ve all seen.
Pink pineapples exist. WHAT?!?

My BOTM picks this month?
Siren Queen by Nghi Vo–This is an Indy Next pick! Luli Wei wants to be an actress–and she’ll pay any cost. So that might mean she has to become a little more of the monster to do this, she is down. The time period is between 1929 and 1934 and it sounds positively sumptuous. Love the concept and happy it was a pick this month.

The Lifestyle by Taylor Hahn–Georgina looks to have it all, but this career-driven woman realizes her marriage is not where she wants it to be and rather than divorce, she wants to try something new. So bring out the pineapples, Georgina and her husband are now swingers. Her close friends decide they want to try it too, so it sounds like a movie treatment just waiting to be purchased!

Marrying the Ketchups by Jennifer Close–3 generations of a Chicago family do life. It sounds like the family restaurant is as much a character as the rest of the human family. I love the idea of multi-generational family businesses and the unspoken rules that seem so unflappable being challenged in the last few years.

It’s a great time to join Book of the Month club, if you want to join, consider joining via my affiliate link–you’ll get a book at a great price and I’ll get a credit!

I listened to an Audiobook–it must not be Summer. If you know me, you know I have bad luck with audiobooks (usually within 5 minutes I’m OUT). However, I’m trying to wean myself off of having the tv on at night so  . The Audiobook I listened to was really short, and related to The Boys (if you don’t watch it, be prepared because it’s A LOT), but I was happy that I finally finished something without sleeping. But then I was driving and started listening to Meant to Be by Emily Giffin and there are serious JFK Jr vibes. I mean REALLY a lot of vibes. But obviously it’s not JFK jr.
