It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

Each Monday, The Book Date asks what we’re reading…  Please visit the site to link up your current list and hold yourself accountable. Also, you can visit some great blogs who are also doing this meme… It’s pretty awesome.

How are you doing? So far, 2017 has been good, I just think it has been FILLED with activities. My day job had a long furlough period, so I was able to take some time to myself at the end of last year and the very beginning of this year. However, weirdly enough, my sinuses have been bad ALL weekend, so it has been a lot of soup and spicy stuff to make me feel a little more normal. I have not really been interested in any particular food, though. Despite Chicken Noodle Soup, I am still feeling gross. I hear we’re supposed to get a wicked storm, so I think it might be related to the barometric pressures associated with that. Does that happen to you?

I have an audiobook for a Batgirl book that I am trying to listen to, in moments I am in my car. Additionally, I have figured out that the Hannah Swenson book I am reading is out of order–no wonder I was surprised by the plot. I have since rectified it. The two Star Wars books have been sitting there and I really need to take a look and finish them. I hope to also get a box out to the Rubber City Book Posse for the Akron reading festival via Bookcrossing.

I’ve read FIVE BOOKS this year, via my new system. I cannot wait to tell you about it, but it’s still being edited. Basically, it is the best way I have found to get reviews written and in the books quickly while still living your life AND I have a new reading strategy that I will share shortly. I am excited to share it with you, because it has helped me to be more focused in my reading AND my balancing act.

My balancing act this year is my One Little World, a few Skillshare lettering classes and a few artsy classes, too. Jane Davenport is hosting a free class where she talks about her upcoming Michael’s product line (which I braved a cough for, today) which has mixed media items. I think that devoting a little more time to my interests might make 2017 the least stressful year in the last few. I’ve even gotten a diploma in Project Management studies–YAY!

So that’s my first ‘It’s Monday, What are you Reading’ for 2017. It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?

That’s so funny that one of the books you were reading was out of order–I bet that made the plot a bit different than the author originally intended! 🙂 I haven’t had as much time to read as I’d like over the last year or so: I used to teach college level literature, so I used to read ALL of the time, but that got shuffled to the back burner when I had kids and started blogging and freelancing. I asked for a bunch of books for Christmas, so I have a nice little pile by my bed to read when I get a quick minute!

I hate when I read a book out of order. I always have to go back and read what I missed first. I hope you feel better soon. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
