It's Monday! What Are You Reading

It’s Monday, What are You Reading?

It’s Monday, which means it is time again to hook up with the dedicated readers of the Book Date Blog and start talking about the kinds of things we’re all currently reading. While I haven’t read a lot lately,  I’ve been on a Star Wars kick (It’s THAT time of year, right?)… Yay! But we’ve also been doing a few other things… And I’m busy with all of the things I need to do before the end of the year.

I’m in a Goodreads reading challenge right now, and there are a few books I need to read for December. There are four I need to read/finish before the end of the year!

DECEMBER
1. Happy Holidays: Read a holiday romance.
2. Let It Snow: Read a book set where it snows. There DOES NOT have to be snow in the book, but, for example, a book set in Florida would not count.  (I’m totally reading the Jane the Virgin book for this)
3. December Babies: Read a book published in December. It can be from any year. (I think I can read another Star Wars book (Cobalt Squadron) for this!)
4. Hallmark Movies: Read a book with a character who works in entertainment or media.
5. My Gift to You Reader’s choice!  (I’m using Phasma for this!)

I got the opportunity to take a masterclass with the Too Faced Cosmetics pro-team over the weekend, which meant I got to learn how to do some makeup (including some highlight and contour work) as well as work with some new-to-me products–like Bronzer. I am pretty pale, as you can see here, but it was really funny when I was trying to get foundation and other colors. I use Snow and Pearl foundation through their Born This Way line, and the color of concealer I should use is ‘Fairest.’ I do not remember the type of powder I should use, but I wrote it down somewhere and I think I need to use it again, at the very least to bring a little closure and set to my makeup. I felt pretty fancy. And, best of all, while I got to learn about techniques and products, the even was free at Sephora! I love free.

Okay, getting to books I am currently reading–I’m reading this one by Claudia Gray:

It’s awesome to read this story–it takes place just before Star Wars: A New Hope (and Rogue One), and introduces a character from the Last Jedi as well as Leia’s mom (Bail’s wife). It’s a nice read that makes me feel like I’m getting more information, an insider’s view if you will, of the shaping of Leia’s mind. It’s pretty cool!

I’m thinking of reading Leia as well, I liked the other two Star Wars books that Claudia Gray wrote, so I’m pretty sure I’ll like this one too. Hope it’s good!!
