It’s Monday, What Are you Reading?
It’s Monday, which means it is time again to hook up with the dedicated readers of the Book Date Blog and start talking about the kinds of things we’re all currently reading. I read nine books last week, a private group I am in is doing a book challenge and so I’ve been reading a lot for that.
Readathon
I participated in the #24in48 challenge, where you promise to read 24 hours in the 48 of the weekend. With my multiple commitments, it was hard, but I got about 20 hours of reading in–and a lot less sleep than anticipated. Why is Monday so quick to come around?
I read seven of the nine books that I read last week thanks to the readathon. Including 2 books I am donating to Bookcrossing and 5 books I got from the Library. I love Hoopla!!!
I have yet to ‘win’ this readathon, but I think the next time I am going to request at least 1 day off so I can properly read for it.
I Missed SDCC
I missed SDCC again… But I have high hopes that maybe 2019 will be on. I mean, it’s been 5 years since I went, and the lottery system seems to hate me. LOL. I was able to drop people off at SDCC four years ago. We have other plans, and I’m okay with that… I love the local cons. Yay, OC-adjacent cons!
Preorders
I am stoked about the two books I should be getting on release day. Thrawn: Alliances is Star Wars and Scream All Night just looks completely awesome. Are you getting anything for release day?
I’m not always a release day girl, but it’s cool when two books I am really excited about can meet up and get delivered on the same day–yay!
What I’m Reading
I am trying to get a box sent back east for some bookcrossing business, but I am also trying to get books read that I might not be in love with so I can box up another box to send. It’s nice because it’s getting me to read books that I have sat on for a while AND that I might have earmarked for something specific that is no longer on the table.
Ideally I can also use these to get closer to 150 by the end of August in Goodreads.
