Review:: Peach Cobbler Murder by Joanne Fluke (Hannah Swenson #7)

The Cookie Jar, Hannah Swenson’s cookie business, is in trouble when a new bakery moves in across the street. They are undercutting the prices on everything and taking away customers. Worst of all, the bakery is the brainchild of her ‘enemy’ and rival for Mike’s attention, Shawna Lee. It’s being financed by Shawna Lee’s widowed sister, who is fiancing the ENTIRE operation for a year. Luckily, Hannah still has her partner Lisa’s wedding to handle. But soon after the wedding, she finds herself finding another body–this time it’s Shawna Lee, herself. She quickly exonerates herself and then starts investigating. It becomes clear that while no one is missing Shawna Lee, there may have been a different target in mind–and that makes more people vulnerable. Will Hannah be able to solve this one before she, herself, becomes the next victim?

I had really hoped for a more well-developed storyline about the murderer themselves. Maybe because of WHOM was murdered, it colored Hannah’s investigation?

Who would read this: Fans of the series, cozy mystery fans, someone who wants to read a strong heroine and also have some yummy recipes, those who have seen the movies. This particular book was created as a film, too!
Time to Read: 2.5 hours
Rating: 3.0/5 stars
Funny Story: As I mentioned, there is a movie for this–here’s the link for that movie.
Final thoughts: I feel like there is a bit of a formula  developing and I am not sure that I enjoy it. But, I’m  about halfway through the series, so I want to give it a few more.
