What I’m Reading

I’ve been asked a couple of times recently what I’ve been reading. So here’s what I’ve been reading…

Got this from a friend at Bookcrossing. It’s really interesting to read about the herd mentality and college sorority life.  I can remember hearing a family friend’s experiences with a sorority and wanting to pledge. I didn’t go into one, and I’m honestly glad I didn’t while reading this book–there are a lot of ‘high school’ type antics in this book.

I heard about this from someone, cannot for the life of me remember who–and boy, am I glad I did. It’s basically ‘Go Big, or Go Home!’ as it relates to faith. There are videos on a blog that go hand in hand with what’s being said. I keep linking people to this video. You should check it out. It’s FANTASTIC and the whole book is just… WOW! It’s about being brave and I’ve noticed a marketable, tangible change since embracing this way.

This was linked from a newsletter–maybe 31 ministries or something? I recommend this to anyone who has problems believing they’ll ever be good enough. I mean, basically, you are good enough for God. Just as you are. And the Psalms that are linked to, and the questions and study guide after the chapters are pretty awesome. Maybe I’ll post some of the questions at some point… if anyone is so inclined.

I really like this lady. This is a more personal spin on faith, but I just picked it up last night. From what I’ve read, it’s something that I think anyone might get involved with. There are chapters about being more in your heart, in your personal walk with God, in relationships, in struggles, thoughts and callings…

More things on the horizon. But, I want to know what you’re reading. Anything good? Is there a book that you’re eagerly anticipating reading? What is it???

I really want to read “A Perfect Mess” after reading your blurb about it. it looks like something that would be hugely beneficial for me!! ack!

I just finished the novel “White Picket Fences” by Susan Meissner which I LOVED and just bought the book “They Almost Always Come Home” by Cynthia Ruchti. I read the first chapter and loved it, so I’m anxious to get back to it! 🙂
