About Me

483657_10151352140351443_883267906_nOnce upon a time, there was a girl who learned to read when she was three years old. Instantly hooked, the girl would spend most of her life with her face buried in a book, and spent many years in one of the greatest bookgroups on the planet, the RCBP. She would start working part time at a bookstore in Orange County, California and the rest is history.

Well, until the internet–where all information is available for consumption. I’ve been writing stories  for the internet and about my life since 1998. Since 2008, I have been keeping track of the books I have read (and reviewed) through a specific site. Now, that site exists as AlwaysReiding.com. As a reader, a writer, a Goodreads librarian, a bookseller and a reviewer across the board, I have the skills and experience necessary to write about your book. I also edit short and long works of fiction for really reasonable rates!

My alter-ego, GothamGal, writes about Geek Life at Geek Watch One as well as in a few other online locations. Additionally, I moderate a few membership-based geek forums online.

The point is, I love to read, and appreciate you checking out the site. Please take a look at my review policy, my media kit and contact me if you have an inquiry.

If you stick around, you may hear about a few of my favorite things, including:
My book hauls and videos
My forays into gaming, both video and boardgames
My fascination with Batgirl and other awesome comics
Penpalling, and inky-related crafts
The way I live my geek life, complete with a geeky husband and two cats who can get a bit geeky in their own rights.

  1. Hi there ,
John Vorhaus here, author of The Comic Toolbox, Creativity Rules and many other books and novels on how to do certain things well. Presently I’m stretching my ink to an even more purposeful canvas with a new little book called how to live life. Having visited your website, I judge that your readers will find this book useful and fun. With its many easy exercises and powerful tools for thinking well and feeling good, it will help them:
    · Gain and maintain meaningful self-awareness.
    · Use acceptance as a tool for discovery.
    · State desires, fears and purpose with candor.
    · Make beneficial life changes and well-guided choices.
    · Develop beliefs and generosity of spirit.
    · Have better relationships.
    · Keep revelation alive.
How to live life hasn’t or isn’t an ism. It’s not intended to persuade or dissuade. It seeks only to convey some ideas and strategies that help make lives rise. It uniquely invites the reader to collaborate in that, and provides the tools to do so. If it has a belief to share, that would be the author’s own motto, “Walk down the beach, pick up everything you find, and turn it into a party hat.”
How to live life will launch on August 3, 2015, and I’d love to provide you with a review copy now, and start building our relationship and common cause. I’m also available for interviews or guest posts, of course, but the main thing is the book. Specify .prc or .pdf by return email and you’ll have it in your inbox straightaway.
    Best, -jv

  3. I came across your website and wanted to know if you would be willing to review my book Code Name Atlas. It’s a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel that has broad appeal and in depth characters that I think you would enjoy. If you’re interested I can send you an eBook copy of your choice; mobi, ePub or PDF. You can read a summary of the book below. Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing from you. Summary:Atlas is a war hero caught between his wife’s love or saving the survivors of Earth which has been destroyed by unknown forces. The closest thing to organized leadership are the packs of scavengers that take what they want. To keep his wife safe, he builds an army. To give her the life she wants, he fights. To win back their home, he must go to war. But she doesn’t believe that his sacrifice is for her and his selflessness is driving them apart. As he struggles for his wife’s devotion he is caught in a war with a tyrannical dictator. To win the war and his wife\’s safety he must give her up and fight a war where defeat is expected. To fight a dictator he must become a warlord.Hovering over everything is the threat of an alien invasion which Atlas slowly pieces together through unreliable stories told by the survivors. He soon learns that his fight is only a small part in a war that has been raging for hundreds of years and reaches throughout the galaxy. A gritty and realistic action adventure book blends with minimal use of science fiction elements to create a rich, believable contemporary fiction story of one soldier’s heart-wrenching post-apocalyptic journey to keep his family alive. \”Code Name Atlas is a very accomplished, spirited novel of depth and intelligence that grips you in a vice like hold from beginning to end. Highly recommended.\” -SFBook.com
