Watch Me: A Memoir by Anjelica Huston

Anjelica Huston is a famous name.

Anjelica Huston is a famous face.

Anjelica Huston tackles her adulthood in the memoir Watch Me. Blending years of lessons along with journals and recollections, she is able to tell a tale about her Hollywood life, from her modelling jobs to her acting jobs. From her relationships with Jack Nicholson and Ryan O’Neale to her marriage to an eclectic sculpture, she has gone from very public life to a private life.

Along the way, she picked up lessons about acting and life and she is able to enjoy the lessons she has learned with readers. I was surprised at just how much I didn’t know about Huston, and I am so incredibly happy I got to read this. I was only surprised about the Roman Polanski scandal and how it effected an incident in her life.

Who would read this: Anyone who enjoys Ms. Huston’s films, fans of Hollywood within the 60s-90s, fans of women who don’t live by society’s rules.

Time to Read: This took about 3.5 hours… Quick read with a lot of cool little pieces of knowledge.
Rating: 4/5 stars

Funny Story: It has been on my wishlist for a while. I couldn’t believe I saw it on the available list at the library!

Final thoughts: I really enjoyed this–it shed some light on a person that I have enjoyed seeing on the screen, but hadn’t had too much experience with.
